WRITING PLAN
NOVEL:
The Fortress
During Operation Barbarossa, the German army lay siege to the fortress
at Brest-Litovsk for over a month. Inside the fort was a small company
of Russian soldiers. When they were captured, they were sent to a concentration
camp. Several of their company survived the war. On their return to Russia,
Stalin ordered they be sent to the Gulag as traitors. This is the story
of Dmitri, the commander of that company.
